I was going to do this Twitter Tuesday thing where I did quick and dirty comics based on quotable tweets. So this one was going to be "If you can make a girl laugh, you can make her do anything," a quote from Marilyn Monroe, followed by a poorly drawn fellow going to her grave and shouting "Arise! ARRIIIIIIISE!"

But let's be honest, I don't have the time for that kind of thing. It turns out drawing in a crappy internet stick figure style like all the popular webstrips is harder than it looks. You have to choose how to suppress what you know about drawing or you just end up with something that looks like you knew what you were doing but chose to draw with your left hand.

However while I was lightboxing this first panel to create a vision of loveliness, I really liked the sort of stained-glass effect on the reduced opacity of Ms. Monroe here. So I kept the panel.

Also like how for once I didn't draw solid contour at every delineation. If I could learn to do that inking my own cold pencils my art would be about 20x better.
