When The Gutters asked me to draw another page for them, I said sure! Then I realized it was 9 panels, including 4 scene establishing shots. Then it snowed before I could move into my new apartment. Then the city stopped plowing. So after slugging my computer up the road in a laundry basket throw a foot of snow (taking the roundabout train because the buses weren't running), I got everything set up and banged out these rough thumbs. Once I could get in, that is. I didn't have keys because the blizzard shut down hardware stores for three days.
Then work kept me till 8:30 the rest of the week, shaving a full day of drawing and inking off my schedule. And I still had to learn to draw Goofy, which -- thank cripes -- I had a headstart on by faking a Disney style on a couple of characters in Lil' Sammy Swift and She's Famous Now.
And I still had no bed. Or desk. Or chair. In fact, I'm writing this right now from the yet-to-be-furnished floor of my new room, where I've been sitting for 8 hours.
Why do I mention all this? Cause 10 minutes ago I turned this page in on deadline. I'd like to level up my freelancer grade now, please.
Inks next week.
