I’m aware of what I’m saying, and what I’m saying is that the 2024 Coy Hill release knocks me back in a way that no expression of Pappy to yet cross my lips has done. Yes, it’s great bourbon, but this Tennessee whiskey stays with my memory in ways that the venerable Van Winkle simply doesn’t. I’m aware of the apostasy, but what am I going to do, tow a falsehood? This is my truth. Barrelhouse 8 is exceptional, right up there with WhistlePig special releases and Starward and some of the other greats I’ve had this year and past.
See for yourself: Jack Daniel’s Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8 is up at Tasting Table.
