Silent Distillery Chapter Six Is a Whiskey for the Ages. And Yet…

Midleton Very Rare just put out its most distinguished, dareisay venerable whiskey ever, the Silent Distillery Chapter Six. And I did my best to drink it reverently. It’s something else, though at the price tag, best left as a collector’s item. I’d even say discounting the landmark status of the release, I’d find more favorable whiskeys near this age statement, at a much more–if relatively speaking–affordable price. Like, you give me ten grand and say “Find me the best whiskey I can drink,” I’ll get you something a little more fun than this, but Chapter Six has cultural and historical cache. This is a really rare case of a whiskey that, good as it is, probably really should be left bottled up as a collector’s item. It’s more artifact than imbiber. In that regard, yeah, it’s probably worth its price for millionaires to trade or show off.
